on the Internal Quality Assurance and Work Organisation System at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
Under § 127 section 2 of the Statute of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń of 16 April 2019 (NCU Legal Bulletin of 2019, item. 120)
The Senate provides, as follows:
§ 1
- Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, hereinafter referred to as “University” has an operating Internal Quality Assurance and Work Organisation System, hereinafter referred to as „Academic Excellence System” (AES).
- The aim of AES is:
- to improve the quality assurance, understood as the level of achieved learning objectives and the level of quality of realized processes which allow for achieving those objectives;
- to improve work organisation understood as the quality of internal processes realized at the University which allow for achieving high quality of education,
which translate into building up the culture of quality, good atmosphere and high work efficiency, satisfaction of staff and students, economic results and the University’s reputation.
§ 2
- AES involves development of the quality assurance and work organisation in all fields relevant for the University’s functioning, particularly in terms of:

- learning outcomes and study programs;
- learning organisation and conditions;
- quality of didactic classes;
- ongoing work and professional development of academic teachers and University’s non-didactic staff;
- cooperation with external stakeholders;
- organisation and working conditions at the University;
- monitoring professional careers of University graduates.
- AES includes faculty systems for quality assurance, unless they are not contradictory to it.
§ 3
- The objectives of AES include, in particular:

- measuring, monitoring and analysis of the quality assurance and work organisation in the context of study programs offered by the University and their objectives by:
-
- verification and evaluation of education outcomes,
- monitoring study programs;
-
- measuring, monitoring and analysis of the quality assurance and work organisation in the context of fulfilling students’ needs and expectations by:
-
- analyzing the expectations and self-assessment of students at the entry,
- analyzing the expectations and self-assessment of students at the exit,
- studying the quality of didactic classes,
- studying students’ satisfaction;

- measuring, monitoring and analysis of the quality assurance and work organisation in the context of realization of employees’ rights and duties by:
-
- evaluation of didactic activities of academic teachers,
- auditing didactic classes,
- studying employee satisfaction;

- measuring, monitoring and analysis of the quality assurance and work organisation in the context of fulfilling the needs and expectations of graduates and the remaining stakeholders by:
-
- monitoring professional careers of University graduates,
- studying stakeholders’ satisfaction;
- A detailed procedure of evaluation and analysis, as well as improving the quality assurance and work organisation in the areas mentioned in section 1 item 1 – 4, taking into account:
-
- conducting information campaign;
- gathering data by means of online questionnaire survey and other measuring tools;
- data analysis and preparation of initial reports;
- analysis of reports and formulating recommendations;
- devising and approval of improvement-oriented measures;
- implementation of improvement-oriented measures;
- evaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented improvement-oriented measures
and its timetable, along with models of measuring tools shall be defined by the Rector by means of a separate decree.
§ 4
- The persons in charge of realization of AES are:

- Rector,
- Vice-President for Research- the University coordinator in charge of quality assurance,
- analysts,
- University council in charge of quality assurance ,
- Deans,
- Faculty coordinators in charge of quality assurance,
- coordinators in charge of quality assurance from the University’s remaining organisational units,
- Faculty councils in charge of quality assurance,
- Councils in charge of quality assurance of the University’s remaining organisational units.
- Administrative services for AES shall be provided by the Department of Education.
- IT support for AES shall be provided by the University IT Center.
- Monitoring the professional careers of University graduates is the task of:

- NCU’s Professional Promotion Department for Students and Graduates- in Toruń campus,
- Collegium Medicum Professional Promotion for Students and Graduates- in Bydgoszcz campus.
- The Rector, in a separate decree, shall define detailed objectives of the persons, units and entities mentioned in sections 1-4.
§ 5
The NCU Senate’s Decree No. 33 of 27 February 2018 on the introduction of Internal Quality Assurance and Work Organisation System at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (NCU Legal Bulletin of 2018, item 68) is hereby repealed.
§ 6
The Decree comes into force on 29 October 2019.
